CAO OSA Sol Lot 54 Toro Cigar Review

CAO OSA Sol Lot 54 CigarBinder: Connecticut Broadleaf
Wrapper:  Olancho San Agustin Sun Grown
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan
Length: 6
Ring Gauge: 54

After my more than enjoyable experience with the box of CAO Brazilia Amazon Cigars I purchased, I was really excited when I heard about a new CAO release back in September in the CAO OSA Sol. I was lucky enough to get it gifted to me recently and without blinking I can assure you this is a very good medium bodied cigar that will impress with you its’ smooth flavor and complexity.

At first glance the CAO OSA Sol Lot 54 Toro is a gorgeous cigar.  The wrapper is a medium brown color from the Olancho San Agustin section of Honduras. It has some prominent veins that adds to its’ character and it is firm to the touch with little bounce to it.

Upon cutting and lighting this cigar my first impression was a very pleasant one. I was greeted with warm woodsy notes with some underlying sweeter tones that piqued my senses right away.

There are two attributes in the CAO OSA Sol that really made me want to keep this cigar in regular rotation. First the body is great. This stick is a perfect example of a medium bodied cigar – it can be enjoyed during a morning smoke or as your nightcap. Secondly this is a very smooth smoke with no harshness in sight. The flavor profile of earth, sweet, wood, and dark cocoa marry nicely.

If you’re looking for a new cigar to add to your collection then you should strongly consider the CAO OSA Sol Lot 54 Toro. I find it to be a solid cigar that can be an everyday smoke and will only excel once aged past that 30 day mark. Long ashes!
