As many times as I have visited Puerto Rico, I can honestly say there have only been few moments that I have enjoyed the island as a true getaway. With my family and in laws living there; at times it can be difficult to tune out. My recent stay at the El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo afforded me an entirely new experience.
Located in the Fajardo region of Puerto Rico, The El Conquistador is a breathtaking property that is a sight to be seen. Over 2.4 acres of land, the hotel offers lodging, an immaculate golf course, spa, water park and a private beach.
Our room was situated in the Las Olas Village which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Our lodging was very spacious with a king size bed, terrace, large bathroom and more.
The village was located about 15 minute away from the main lobby and was accessible only through two elevators and an aerial tramway. At first we were overwhelmed by the distance but we soon grew to love it as it provided us peace and quiet from the foot traffic of the hotel. Additionally the commute back provided us with even more glorious views of the ocean.
The main lobby is also impressive with several onsite restaurants, separate game rooms, shopping and a lounge called 21 that allows both adults and children to enjoy dancing, billiards and more.
On the lobby floor is also a much needed Starbucks and more than enough space plus seating to enjoy a private moment.
And right outside is the pool with multiple bars that made very tasty cocktails.
This is a very isolated property so the food was a bit pricey but if you leave area then you will find more economically priced eats that will not let you down. That aside the El Conquistador was nothing short of a dream come true. Our stay was so good we will definitely return; sooner than later. Cheers!
