Cigar Review: Cain Nub Habano 464T

Binder: Dominican
Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Tobacco: Nicaraguan Ligero
Length: 4
Ring Gauge: 64
Cigars are tricky sometimes. All the cigars that I have smoked that were categorized as full-bodied always fell short in my opinion. With the Cain Nub Habano there was no denying its power. Made by Sam Leccia who created the popular concept Nub series, Sam originally introduced the Cain in 2009. I have always wanted to try the Cain but I have missed it during my travels. Recently I saw that Sam started producing the Cain in a Nub form and I couldn’t resist.
Cain cigars are made with straight ligero which is known for providing a real robust full smoke. The reason for this is the ligero leaf comes from the very top of the tobacco plant and therefore gets the most sun, nutrients, flavor and nicotine content. The trick to make this type of tobacco enjoyable, in this instance is to triple ferment it. The result is a very powerful but smooth smoke.

Ciroc Coconut Recipe: The Ciroc Lemon Coco

I can not tell a lie, Sean Combs has been getting my money this summer. Traditionally I am not a big vodka man, but these Ciroc flavors have been driving me wild. I’ve enjoyed Ciroc Red Berrios  for a while but now I am back to the Ciroc Coconut.

Porsche Design Fall 2010 Sunglasses Collection

Porsche Design P'8000 Sunglasses

Certain brands are just timeless to me. One of those in particular is Porsche. Known for their superior luxury high performance automobiles, Porsche also understands that are not just selling cars but an entire lifestyle. For years, owners would be gifted an accompanying set of limited edition sunglasses with each purchase of a Porsche.

Dom Perignon Vintage 1996 Champagne Review

Saying that I love champagne is a severe understatement. I have been a champagne lover for about the last ten years with many corks and pictures to prove it.  In my opinion Dom Perignon is the undisputed king of champagnes. The Dom Perignon brand has been often imitated but never duplicated. Even during the height of Louis Roederer Cristal frenzy, I was still a huge advocate of Dom Perignon and I still am to this day.

Cigar Review: La Aurora 107 Belicoso

Binder: Dominican
Wrapper: Ecuador
Tobacco: Dominican and Nicaragua
Length: 6 1/4
Ring Gauge: 52
One of the most enjoyable aspects of being a cigar smoker to me is trying out different cigars and finding a gem. Last week I had the pleasure of being introduced to the La Aurora 107. The La Aurora Cigar company has had a great run producing cigars in the Dominican Republic.
Their 100 Anos Limited Edition is a favorite of many long time smokers and the Aurora Preferidos Robusto scored an impressive 93 in Cigar Aficionado. The La Aurora 107 commemorates Aurora’s 107th year in business. While I do think it is an odd year to honor, this cigar is one of my new favorites.
First of all this is a great looking cigar. It features a beautiful sun grown brown wrapper. It has a couple of veins but they are very thin and contained. The 107 is tightly packed from head to toe as well. I got a nice scent of cream and spice when I smelled it.

U-Boat Italo Fontana U-51 Rattrapante Watch

U-Boat Italo Fontana U-51 Rattrapante Watch

With being a man of a certain age comes the realization of biggest or brightest is not always best. I love the look of diamonds and other precious stones but other than my wedding band, I don’t wear jewelry at all. I like to put together a subtle appearance that makes a monstrous statement. The U-Boat Italo Fontana U-51 Rattrapante watch does that quite easily with its impeccable Italian workmanship.

In my search for the perfect cigar, I started trying some different brands. One of those new brands to my world is Alec Bradley. My experience with the Prensado Gran Toro was just okay but I thought I give the Alec Bradley Tempus a try. It received an exceptional rating of 96 from Cigar Aficionado Magazine and the buzz was heavy going into its release.
