A By Acacia Pinot Noir 2009 Wine Review

Everyone is unique in their taste and wine etiquette. If I’m celebrating I’ll have the champagne on chill. If I’m cooking dinner then I get one bottle of red and one bottle of white. Last week I did just that and with the red selection I went with A By Acacia Pinot Noir 2009.
This California Pinot Noir has a very attractive in look and smell. The nose is a nice fruity profile with a subtle kick of spice and the color is a classic ruby red color, I was definitely excited.
Upon my first sip my excitement subsided unfortunately. This medium bodied wine had an off-dry sweetness with a nice flavor of fruit reminiscent of dark berries. Additionally it wasn’t as well balanced as I like my wine.
A By Acacia 2009 is a very straight forward Pinot Noir that will not floor you with complexity and plush flavor. While it wasn’t the worst Pinot I’ve had, you could do better with other selections.
