With the immense popularity that tacos have gained in popular culture, it is no surprise Mexican cuisine is a staple in every city we visit. These dishes have received a very unique treatment at Bartaco.
Simply put Bartaco marries tacos and tequila to glorious results. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a seasonal beachtown restaurant that locals wish operated full time.
The setting is casual but chic. Woven basket light fixtures adorn the ceiling as framed photography detailing moments of wonderment put your mind at complete ease. As an added touch, the wait staff all wear button up shirts, white pants and slip ons.
If luck is on their side, patrons are given the choice of dining outside in front of the dock. We sat inside and were perfectly fine with people watching.
Choosing your food is as easy as x’s and o’s. There are pencils on each table and patrons number how many of each selection they desire on a checkoff menu. Bartaco offers over 10 taco variations; we went with the baja fish, mahi mahi and sesame ribeye. Everything was delicious.
The guacamole was also noteworthy; it was super fresh and the chips where oversized so breaking them into smaller portions only added to their “sharing is caring” theme.
Bartaco stocks over 40 different tequilas so needless to say we came thirsty. We tried their Sangria Pera to start, followed up by Sashitos (pictured above) and then we settled with just reposado with pineapple juice.
There are restaurants that are great and there are restaurants that are truly special; Bartaco falls into the latter. We highly suggest calling ahead to put your name on the list so your wait as minimized. The Summer just got here and this place already had a two hour wait time. Cheers!
