With the big success of the iPad it should be no surprise that other tablet computers are hitting the market. To my surprise Blackberry RIM debuted their Playbook this week and I have to admit this item piqued my interest.

Coming in at 5.1 inches high and 7.6 wide and weighing under one pound, this tablet features a 7 inch VSGA touch screen with multi tasking features. You get an HD camera on both sides and at press time no information on a hard release date or price.

While the Blackberry Storm didn’t perform to expectations, the Playbook is Blackberry RIM’s chance to really assert themselves in the touchscreen software era.
