Wines are very tricky. You could go to a five-star hotel or restaurant and order a bottle for about a hundred bucks that is impeccable but go to your local wine merchant and get the same results by only pulling out a twenty-dollar bill.

I say that to say this, luxury isn’t always based on the price tag. It is always about the moment. I recently had the distinct pleasure of trying the Bridlewood Pinot Noir 2008 and I must say this wine is my hands down favorite for 2010.

Made from Monterey County grapes, Bridlewood Pinot Noir 2008 is an excellent wine. I would describe its aroma as an interesting mix of sandalwood and dark cherries. The flavor profile is a light to medium bodied Pinot, with notes of mixed fruit. This bottle is very smooth and rich but never overbearing. I paired it with some salmon and linguine to great results. Best of all it is priced under twenty dollars.

The Bridlewood Pinot Noir 2008 makes for a great gift or a simple table wine. I suggest you give it a try and fall in love with it just like I did.
