CAO is a cigar brand I have haven’t had much experience with. A couple of months ago I won an auction and got a box of the CAO Brazilia Amazon at a great price. I had heard from a buddy of mine that this stick is very much full bodied so I let it sit in my humidor for about ninety days. The wait was more than worth it.
The CAO Brazilia Amazon is a beautiful looking cigar. The Brazilian wrapper is an oily dark brown with a very firm texture. It has very minimal veins and is rolled very nicely.
Upon lighting it you will notice the abundance of smoke you get from each puff. It is flavorful and plentiful at the same time. I got a flavor profile of some earth, bitter chocolate all anchored by an underlying hint of spice.
What made this cigar a real treat was that it burned very well. I never had a problem with it – the ash held on very firm and the draw was open. As it burned a quarter inch in the cigar started to crack which was disappointing but it corrected itself once it burned through.
Overall I loved the CAO Brazilia Amazon. It is must try for any Maduro or full bodied smoke lovers – you will not be disappointed.
I think this cigar was a little strong for me
So you aged this for 90 days? wow I need to try that. My aging humi has some goodies in it that won’t be ready until the summer, I may throw the Brazilia in there as well.
Yeah. When I gave you the CAO, I had just gotten it. Any cigar you get delivered you should let sit in the humi for at least 2 weeks. You never know the conditions the cigars were mailed in or during transpotation. But if you can spare the time and space, age your cigars for at least 90 days and you’ll see a dramatic difference in your experience!
