Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling 2009 Wine Review
Type: Riesling
Color: Straw
Grapes: Riesling
Country: United States (Columbia Valley)
All wines are not made the same way and that’s what makes all varietals special. Since my last trip to Miami, I’ve caught a serious Riesling bug so those are the grapes I’ve been craving. I recently came across a very economically priced bottle in the Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling 2009. While it didn’t floor me with great complexity and finesse, the Riesling flavors were very pronounced to my liking.
On the nose I got an expected bouquet of fruity aromas that were very sweet – I was reminded of berries and melon. The flavor profile was tasty with finish that lingers. The Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling 2009 wasn’t as light as I would want it, it felt like a medium bodied Pinot.
Overall the Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling 2009 is a nice bottle for everyday sipping. You will not impress aficionados with this selection, but if you are looking for something affordable and cold then there you have it friends. Cheers!
Riesling is one of my favorites. If a good pinot gris is not available, I’ll have a sweet Riesling. Even a dry Riesling is very satisfying. Thanks for the heads up on a very affordable bottle.
Check out Finger Lakes, they make great Rieslings
I have to try this one
