Chicken Cock Mizunara Oak Whiskey
Looking east to Japan for inspiration, Chicken Cock Mizunara Oak Whiskey takes inspiration from the Onagadori rooster and was finished in Japanese Mizunara oak.
Limited to only 10 barrels of total production, Chicken Cock Mizunara Oak Whiskey features the brand’s award-winning Kentucky Straight Bourbon, enhanced by the distinctive character of first-use Mizunara Japanese oak for finishing. This unique and rare oak imparts layers of complex flavor notes like sandalwood, graham cracker, butterscotch and baking spice.
The Onagadori rooster is not only stunning but also incredibly rare, with its distinctive long tail. Similarly, Mizunara oak is renowned for its rarity and difficulty coopering, taking up to two centuries to mature before it can be used to make whiskey barrels. It’s likely the Mizunara oak trees used to finish this whiskey were growing back in 1856 when Miller started Chicken Cock.
