Don Julio 70 Añejo Claro Tequila
Set to debut this fall, Don Julio 70 Añejo Claro is a tequila that celebrates the 70th anniversary of the year Don Julio González began creating tequila. Don Julio 70 Anejo Claro starts as Don Julio Añejo and filters the tequila through a specialty process that brings back the bold agave flavor typically found in a Blanco. The result is a crystal clear tequila that combines traditional Añejo and Blanco flavors.
Don Julio 70 Añejo Claro is aged 18 months in American oak barrels before being filtered. According to the press release the tasting notes “display the exceedingly refined complexity of aged Añejo tequila balanced with the versatility and smoothness of a silver. Contains notes of fresh honey, black peppercorn, lemon and smoky agave that blend harmoniously with wood influenced vanilla, toasted almonds and tobacco. Lightly sweet and satiny body.”
The finish is said to be “a clean and smooth finish that is pleasantly warming with engaging lingering hints of chocolate and toffee.”
Don Julio 70 Añejo Claro is being released this fall across the country and will be priced at $70.00 dollars. The packaging looks really well done, I can’t wait to try this.
