When I first started smoking I gravitated towards Connecticut wrapped cigars; I found them to be more mild and smoother smokes. Since then I have graduated to cigars of all strengths and flavors but I didnt’ forget my early days as a smoker and once in a while I will grab a Connecticut shade wrapper to start my day.
While the Rocky Patel Connecticut and NUB Connecticut have been my personal favorites thus far, I must say that the Erez Toro is hands down the best Connecticut wrapped cigar for your money.
Erez is a new company based out of Miami and uses nothing but Dominican grown leaf to make their cigars. I got to meet the honorable Yaniv Erez, President of Erez Cigars, last week at an event at Cigar Inn.
He was nice enough to give me a detailed overview of the line. All of their cigars are full-bodied and are impeccably constructed. Needless to say I was excited to get into this cigar.
My first impression with this Toro is a good one. It is a golden tan brown color and is wrapped nicely with no veins in sight. The seams are tight and uniform as well. Additionally all their cigars, including this one, is double banded which adds a great touch.
After toasting the foot I got a great initial flavor of a buttery cream that was pretty tasty. The draw is great as I am getting a good amount smoke with each pull. Interestingly enough the smoke is a high medium body but it isn’t too strong. So far this Erez is a smooth and pleasant ride.
Twenty minutes into this cigar the ash is holding on very well and the burn line is near perfect. The flavor profile has remained consistent and I am still getting the creamy taste from before.
Rounding into the final third of this cigar I am really impressed. I have put this cigar down a couple of times and it never went out on me. Additionally the burn was excellent and I didn’t need to touch it up with my lighter. It has been very smooth throughout and consistent in a very pleasing flavor profile; so much that I smoked this Toro to the nub.
The Erez Connecticut Toro is a great everyday cigar that can be smoked for any occasion. Priced under ten dollars I suggest you make it a point to find this cigar. For more information you can visit http://erezcigars.com/.
