Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava Review
Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut is a very popular sparkling wine from Spain. While I wasn’t blown away by complexity it makes for a nice selection for everyday use.
Nose:
Cordon Negro Brut has a light aroma that is full of notes of fruit.
Flavor Profile:
I got a nice bouquet of fruit with some smaller hints of vanilla. There was a nice element of acidity that left me wanting more.
Body:
This Cava isn’t as crisp or well balanced as I prefer my sparkling wines to be. I found this bottle to land in a medium body so this would be ideal for a casual toasting or even making mimosas.
Finish:
The finish was a bit tangy which I have never experienced previously, but it didn’t stop me.
Verdict:
The Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava is a nice straightforward sparkling wine that is good for everyday enjoyment. You won’t impress any bubbly enthusiasts but it will serve its purpose at $13.00 dollars a bottle. Cheers!
Great price..have to try this
I agree, Freixenet is a good everyday bubbly and it is a good introductory into exploring Cava.
Try mixing it with your favorite juice (the lighter the better, cranberry, watermelon, lemonade juice etc.) put it in a nice punch container with a funnel & enjoy the party..
1.5L goes a long way for the price..
Peace
Free,
I agree. This is a good bottle to use in any mimosa. Also if you want to add some character to your sangria, use this Cava. You won’t be dissapointed!
Terrific submit!
