Glenrothes Whisky Maker Contest
The Glenrothes Single Malt Whisky is launching a global competition to find four candidates who could become The Glenrothes Whisky Makers. And one of them could be you.
Our successful whisky makers will stay at their distillery in Speyside, Scotland, for a special week commencing on Sunday 8th May 2011.
You’ll learn the time-honoured art of making The Glenrothes, working alongside Malt Masters at their distillery in the heart of Speyside.
You’ll be tutored in all the skills and crafts of whisky making – testing the purity of the water at our source, milling the malt to achieve the golden proportions of husk, grits and flour, distilling in our tall copper pot stills, cask-filling and learning how to taste and identify mature casks of malt whisky.
While you’re there, there will be many other simple pleasures to enjoy in this glorious part of the world. Maybe a spot of fishing after work, or dining at local Highland restaurants, or perhaps a picnic in the hills surrounding our distillery.
You’ll stay at the distillery’s own Rothes House not open to the public but reserved for VIP visits.
Entries must be received by January 31, 2011 and the trip will commence on May 8, 2011, lasting for seven nights, ending May 14, 2011. Four winners will be chosen by an independent judging panel.
Please note: Open to persons currently aged 21 and over, exclusions apply. You must be able to travel to Scotland on Sunday 8 May 2011 and stay for 7 nights.
