La Aurora continues to impress me with their cigars. I’ve loved the 107’s since they were released and I can’t stop raving about the La Aurora Corojo’s. I finally got the chance to try the very limited La Aurora 107 Lancero shape and I must admit it was worth the wait. La Aurora never planned to make this shape but fans of the 107 requested it on twitter and here we have it.
The 107 Lancero is a very elegant looking cigar. The rich chocolate wrapper features some small veins but that comes with the territory of the Lancero shape. This cigar is soft to the touch has a sweet spice smell to it. The head has a pigtail which I think is a nice touch.
Upon toasting the foot I got a great mix earthy flavors with some subtle spice. The draw is great and I am getting an ample amount of smoke with each pull. The ash is a dusty grey and the burn line is a bit wavy but not totally out of control.
Twenty minutes later I am totally loving this cigar. It’s ring gauge is small but you still get a deep full fulling smoke here. The strength is landing at a medium body that is very smooth. So smooth you can smoke this cigar without a beverage.
Going into the third leg of this cigar it feels a bit stronger. The ash has held on strong throughout and the burn line has settled in nicely. The flavor profile is still full of earth and nice spices and some flashes of sweetness maybe molasses.
Honestly I have always stayed away from buying a box of any cigar because the consistency might not be there or you might get a dud in the batch. I’ve bought four of these La Aurora 107 Lancero’s thus and each one has been excellent. On top of that the price is right as you can get this stick for $7.00 to $9.00 dollars.
If you have the great luck to come across this cigar do yourself a favor and get a couple. It’s a well balanced cigar that taste great and is very well made. The La Aurora 107 Lancero is now my favorite cigar hands down, hopefully it will be yours too. Long ashes!
good cigar
i was real skeptic about this cigar, you know i like 50 ring gaged or better to go with the big face watches i wear…. but you lead me in the right direction with this one.. real smooth, and the construction of the cigar allowed it to burn real slow. i can add this to the list of great cigars… thanks
