La Flor Dominica Air Bender Chisel Cigar Review
Binder: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Ecuador (Habano)
Filler: Dominican Republic
Length: 6.5
Ring Gauge: 54
When I smoke a certain brand of cigars, I expect a similar experience when I try other sizes in the same family. With my profound adoration of the LFD Air Bender Guerrero, I decided to pick up the Chisel size. Unfortunately I was left confused and dissapointed.
The Chisel is a very interesting shape with its’ thick ring gauge and church steeple top. Comestically it has a nice sheen to it and the seams are tightly rolled. Additionally it has some nice weight to it as it is firm to the touch throughout.
Upon my first couple of puffs I got notes of earth and spice. The draw gave me a problem early on as it was very tight and I had to make a real effort to get a decent intake of smoke but I kept plugging away.
Moving into the second third of the Chisel, I encountered some more problems of it going out on me. While I’m not always perfect at lighting a cigar, I knew I toasted the foot well in this occasion. Nevertheless I kept fighting with this cigar throughout my time with it.
The Air Bender Chisel is great looking medium bodied cigar with nice character but it gave me too much trouble for me to really recommend it. I have never had these problems with any other La Flor Dominicana line, so I am assuming I just got a dud. Sigh.
I would like to try this cigar
I never had that issue with this stick..it may have been a dud. I actually like this stick, maybe you should try it again.
I just added your RSS Feed on my RSS reader, it is actually so nice to read your weblog.
This is a chilling out cigar, some to smoke on the go.. thanks for the info…
