La Flor Dominicana Factory Press III Cigar Review

Filler: Dominican Republic
Length: 6 1/4
Ring Gauge: 58
The La Flor Dominicana company is synonymous for top quality cigars. My first experience with LFD was with the Air Bender and it was very impressive. Recently a good friend of mine Ade gifted me a LFD Factory Press III cigar. This was a big gesture indeed as only 300 boxes of this cigar were produced. I was so excited I wanted to save this cigar in my humidor for aging but Ade supports the Flawless Crowns lifestyle so I had to spark it up with him. I’m glad I did.
Construction:
The Factory Press III is both bold in size and appearance. It is beautifully box pressed with a wide flat top and precise edges. The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is a reddish-brown with a nice oily sheen. It features a double band that adds an added personal touch to this stick.
The pre-light aroma I got was of a sweet molasses at the head and a dry spice at the foot. The ash was a flaky dusty grey and remained pretty firm and burned evenly throughout my smoke. As with most box pressed cigars the draw was near perfect with a wee bit of resistance.
Flavor Profile:
Right away I got a taste of earthy flavors. Going into the second third of this cigar I was greeted with some sweeter flavors that reminded me of coffee which remained going into the final third. The La Flor Dominicana Factory Press III is very smooth for such a giant cigar. I think it will surprise a lot of people.
Strength:
I’ve heard other smokers categorize this smoke as full-bodied, but it landed at a high medium for me which was great. I got enough kick but it never knocked me out. I loved the mix of power and smoothness here.
Verdict:
I really enjoyed the La Flor Dominicana Factory Press III. It is a very elegant but deep smoke. The price in New York City stores starts at $18.00 dollars a stick but when you see this cigar in person you will understand where your money went.
I would only consider this cigar box worthy if you are into collecting limited edition sticks. I really enjoyed it but for the price you could get another cigar that will you a similar experience but most likely couldn’t compete with the look of a LFD Factory Press III.
