Martell Cordon Bleu Debuts Intense Heat Cask Finish
For 300 years Martell has been producing some of the finest cognacs this world has tasted. They have recently announced a new and very unique addition to their portfolio in Martell Cordon Bleu Intense Heat Cask Finish.
Just like their other selections, Martell uses over 100 extra old eau-de-vie to create their newest release but relies on the casks to give a strong point of difference. Usually the eau-de-vie is aged in oak barrels that have been slightly charred, with Intense Heat Cask Finish the oak barrels were burnt on the inside. This is not to say the taste is spicy but more so intensified notes of sweet and spice.
According to Difford’s Guide, the taste is said to be “nutty and spicy” with a long finish that features “lingering roasted nuts and mild cinnamon spice.”
Martell Cordon Bleu Intense Heat Cask Finish will be available for private purchase at $312.00. Cheers!
