Hosted at the William Vale Hotel, Mercedes-Benz treated us like royals as they unveiled the 2017 smart fortwo cabrio. To start our day we served a first class breakfast at the Westlight Rooftop Bar.

From there we were formally introduced to the smart fortwo cabrio with an informative but very fun presentation highlighting what makes this vehicle special.

At first glance the smart fortwo cabrio is a beauty. The attention to detail that went into a car this size is remarkable.

The open-top two-seater is three cars in one: at the touch of a button the new smart cabrio is transformed from a closed two-seater into a car with a large sliding canvas sunroof, or a full-fledged cabriolet with the soft top completely open. This enables the fresh air driving experience to be adapted to the weather or the driver’s mood. This flexibility offered by the “tritop” folding soft top and the removable roof bars is a special class-leading feature. At the same time, the new smart cabrio remains the only true cabriolet in its vehicle class.

Even though the first impression was stellar, the test drive really showed us what the cabrio is all about. Surprisingly the two door is very roomy. I did not feel confined in any way and only felt more cozy when the roof was dropped. In regards to the drive, the smart cabrio handles very well and has a lot go for such a small package.

Starting at $18,900, the smart fortwo cabrio really enables the owner to enjoy the moment. The size, price and features make this vehicle a no brainer for individuals who just want to get up and go. We highly suggest you take it for a spin; you’ll thank us later.
