The Quesada family has a long rich history in the cigar world for making quality sticks including Fonseca. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Quesada Tributo Manolin.
At a very thick 60 ring gauge and and 6 1/2 inch length, the Manolin is formidable to say the least. Large size aside this is an impressive looking cigar.
The Quesada Tributo Manolin features a very rich chocolate brown wrapper that has a deliciously oily sheen. It is flawlessly rolled as the seams are airtight. There are some veins present but they live deep within the wrapper and actually gives the cigar some character. Finally the cigar is packed very well at it is firm to the touch from head to foot.
Upon toasting the foot I could tell I was in for a long deep smoke. I got a good shot of ligero spice on top of some earthy flavors. The V cut used made the draw wide open for me.
About forty five minutes later I am nearing the final third of this smoke, and I have been enjoying every moment of it. This cigar lands at a high medium body which gave me enough strength to savor the flavors but didn’t knock me out.
While I am not a fan of cigars with ring gauges larger than 54, this Quesada Tributo Manolin was a great surprise for me. It is very well constructed and burned nicely. It is big, bold, well balanced and would be a great cigar for a new smoker looking to move away from milder smokes. I would definitely purchase this stick and I suggest you do too.
Long ashes!
Sounds like a good cigar. How much is it?
