Romeo y Julieta No. 2 Tubo Cigar Review (Cuban)
Binder: Cuban
Wrapper: Cuban
Tobacco: Cuban
Length: 5
Ring Gauge: 42
So far my experience with Cuban cigars hasn’t been as fullfilling as I thought it would be. The Cohiba Robusto and Bolivar No. 2 never lived up to the hype that always surrounded the forbidden fruit that are Cuban cigars. I must say the Romeo y Julieta No. 2 Tubo is an incredible smoke.
Visually this cigar is a gift and a curse. It is packaged in a classic looking tube that should be a keepsake for any real smoker. The actual cigar though wasn’t the showstopper I was expecting. To start the wrapper has some flaws. The color isn’t uniform as there are some green patches at the foot of the cigar. Additionally some of the wrapper was a little chipped.
Cosmestic complaints aside this small smoke packs a great punch. Upon toasting the foot I got a great initial flavor of earth and some sweetness that reminded me of coco. The burn started off a bit wild but soon corrected itself.
Fifteen minutes or so into things the dark grey ash is very sturdy. The burn line is the prettiest I have seen in a while; it is very thin and circles around in unicine.
I am getting the same tasty flavor of earth as before but now with an added small bite of spice I am getting on my lips as I exhale the smoke. Throughout my entire the smoke the draw has been perfect. I don’t have to pull too hard and I am getting an ample amount of smoke on each take.
Fifteen minutes or so into things the dark grey ash is very sturdy. The burn line is the prettiest I have seen in a while; it is very thin and circles around seamlessly.
For a Petit Corona this small smoke packs a great punch. The strength is landing at a very full medium and is matching up well with my New Year’s Eve glass of Moët & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose champagne.
Moving into the final third of this Habano some of the darker flavors are becoming more pronounced. I am getting more of the coco or coffee now that is so tasty. This cigar is only 5 inches long and has a smaller ring gauge but it is very rich and robust in flavor. Also the draw has been very easy to deal with and the burn has been great.
Priced around $12.00 USD this is still a great buy for a double digit cigar. If you ever venture out of the country and find yourself at a reputable cigar dealer treat yourself to a Romeo y Julieta No. 2 Tubo.
My only advice would be to thoroughly inspect the cigar out of the tube before you purchase. Outside of that this is a remarkable cigar to enjoy if you have forty minutes to spare. Long ashes!
I’m gonna try this one
The one I smoked was flawless and it was one of the best smokes I’ve ever had!
