Rom Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva is a rum from Venezuela that I had the pleasure of tasting yesterday. If you are a rum lover then this is something you should add to your collection.

Introduced in 1963 to celebrate the distillery’s 25th anniversary, Pampero Aniversario is a blend of four to six-year-old rums. It is matured in whisky and bourbon barrels which results in a rich flavor that is very smooth.

The 750 ml bottle comes in a leather pouch which makes for great gift. On the nose I got some caramel notes that made it a pleasure to smell. The color is a deep dark brown.

When I tasted I was surprised how smooth it was. It is a medium body but was very soft. So soft I would suggest drinking it on the rocks. Even though this is a sipping rum, it should suitable for mixing recipes.
