One great thing about cigar culture is that if you keep your eyes and ears open you can win free cigars. I had the great luck of winning a nice five pack of San Lotano Habano Toros from Buck Head Cigar in Atlanta. This cigar was so good I’m mad at myself for going through all of them.
The San Lotano Habano line is produced by cigar veteran AJ Fernandez. It is a tribute to AJ’s grandfather who originally first started the line in San Luis, Cuba. While it isn’t Cuban puro, this stick is one of the best cigars available domestically.
This Habano is a great looking stick. The wrapper is chocolate brown with a beautiful oily sheen and very few veins. From head to foot it is very firm to the touch and feels tightly packed. When you see this cigar in person you’ll know right away the AJ Fernandez company really put some work into creating it.
Once lit I fell in love with this cigar. I got a complex array of earth and woodsy flavors with some faint notes of cream. This is a deep and rich medium bodied cigar that balances strength and flavor impeccably.
The construction is impressive as I didn’t have a problem with any of the cigars I tried. When I smoke I prefer my cigars to pull in ample smoke with just a slight feel of resistance on the draw and that’s exactly what I got with the San Lotano Habano.
The San Lotano Habano is now one of my go to cigars and will much rotation in my humidor. If you enjoy medium body cigars, then you should not pass this stick up.
This sounds like a stick to behold, and it comes in Maduro….SWEEETTT!!!
Unfortunately the sticks aren’t readily available as it is new..I check Buckhead in hopes to buy some and they are only taking pre-orders….I will be in Atlanta in a few weeks so I’ll stop by and see if they have any in stock.
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the info

This was a good cigar…
