Hard core cigar smokers will always scout out a town for any local cigar lounges before planning any trip. Chances are I’ll be in Washington DC in the next couple of weeks for business and I found the exact place I plan on going to. For the last plus ten years Shelly’s Back Room has provided cigar smokers a friendly and unpretentious setting to enjoy some food, cocktails and fine cigars.

Shelly’s Back Room is a cigar friendly establishment with a state of the art air-purification system keeps the atmosphere comfortable for smokers and non-smokers alike. Additionally the eating menu is very simple and straightforward with soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees that are fairly priced. Shocker!

The drink menu covers different 50 different scotches, 25 beers, cognacs, and other cordials. The cigar list is extensive as well. It covers Ashtons, La Flor Dominicana, Padron, CAO, Davidoff, and even some selections from Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigar List.

Shelly’s offers 100 temperature controlled personal humidors for rent as well. Good times.
