Want to enjoy a cigar with a cocktail and a meal during your next trip to Washington DC? Then Shelly’s Back Room should be a must go on your itinerary.
Located two blocks from the White House, Shelly’s Back Room is a very cozy place to enjoy a smoke. As you walk in you can’t help but notice a very relaxed ambiance. The establishment is split into a smoking and non smoking section. The smoking section features a large seating area that includes some leather single sofas.
Throughout Shelly’s you’ll see great framed memorabilia including cigar bands, photos etc. Also it doesn’t hurt to have some flat screen televisions throughout; I was pleased to catch some ESPN during my time there.
Shelly’s features a very impressive cigar selection that includes Davidoff, Rocky Patel, CAO, Padron and more. Additionally their wine and spirit menu is very vast.
For cigar lovers Shelly’s offers personal humidors for rent.
What I liked most about Shelly’s is the fact if you are not a smoker you can still enjoy a nice drink there at the bar with your food.
I really enjoyed my short stay at Shelly’s. I was able to enjoy a quick drink and some food before I had to run for my train. While you won’t find any high-end food there, the standard pub fair will provide you with enough choices to find something suitable to eat.
Cheers!
My kind of spot! I need to go to DC and visit.

I have seen this place a few time during my short stays in DC.
A place you should try is the smoke chop shop in Teaneck NJ.

I hope you get the opportunity to travel and experience smoke lounges in many other locales. It would be very interesting to read a piece on several different ones.
