Sledgehammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Wine Review
Type: Red Wine
Color: Deep Red
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon
Country: United States (North Coast of California)
Sledgehammer is a wine company that I was referred to by my very good friend and wine connoisseur E. Maxine Lee. It is specifically marketed towards men who might stray away from wine due to lack of perceived masculinity. While their Sledgehammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 offered big flavor as promised, it also displayed great finesse.
To describe this Cabernet in one word would be ‘rich’. From the nose to the finish your senses will feel its’ boldness. The aroma was a beautiful bouquet of dark fruit; black cherries were the most prominent. This is wine with big bold flavor that is tasty and yet very well balanced. The finish I found to be semi dry which is my preferred sweet spot.
I had the pleasure of enjoying this bottle alone and it was a real pleasure. It is full-bodied but it wasn’t too heavy on my palette. If you love a good hearty steak then look no further. The Sledgehammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 is a steal at this price. Cheers!
I would like to try this.
