The Glenrothes Select Reserve Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Review
Type: Single Malt Scotch
Color: Pale Golden Brown
Grapes: N/A
Country:Scotland
With the recent announcement of the Glenrothes Whisky Maker Competition Winners, I took it upon myself to review The Glenrothes Select Reserve. This is a a non vintage specific selection carefully chosen by their malt master and produced to the same high quality standards as The Glenrothes Vintage selections; only here they select and vat from casks from different years. I am happy to say that this single malt lives up to all the acclaim.
On the nose I got a beautiful aroma that really kept calling me back. It was a nice bouquet of oak, spice and hints of vanilla notes. As I kept turning my glass, I noticed a very silky texture to it as it dripped down to the base.To get straight to the point The Glenrothes Select Reserve is very smooth. I was met with a nice profile of honey sweetness, citrus with and some oak spiciness. I found the finish to be long with a slight burn. This medium bodied malt is pleasing on the palette and made the perfect after dinner nightcap. I would highly recommend it to any fan of scotch; I could only imagine what The Glenrothes vintages taste like!
sounds delicious, I will definitely try
