Trigo Reserva Añeja Rum Review
Type: Rum
Color: Light Amber
Country: Puerto Rico
A good friend of mine always brings back a bottle of something nice when he returns from a trip. On his last voyage to Puerto Rico he picked a bottle of rum that I wasn’t familiar with. Trigo Reserva Añeja is a straight forward but very tasty rum all at a modest price point.
The presentation was the first aspect of this bottle that piqued my interested. It is hand blown decanter bottle sealed with a cork secured with a wire tie.
On the nose I got a complex marriage of scents including oak, honey and molasses. Upon my first sip I was pleasantly surprised how smooth it was. I was presented with notes of caramel and experience a slight burn at the finish.
Trigo Reserva Añeja paired very well with my medium bodied cigar nicely. The only drawback here is the spotty availability in the United States. Cheers!
great rum!
Picked up 6 bottles to take home at the duty free shop in Puerto Rico for 24.00 a bottle, now I need to try some of this soon.
