Vizcaya VXOP Premium Rum Review
As I have grown older and wiser I have also become more in sync with my personal taste and more importantly my palette. I used to be a big fan of dark liquor, but now I prefer clear. One dark rum that caught my immediate attention upon my first sip was Vizcaya.
Vizcaya Rum is distilled from pure cane juice and is aged in oak bourbon barrels. It was originally produced in Cuba and in 1960 the family took their recipe to the Dominican Republic.
I happen to stop by Cigar Inn and a couple of guys there were drinking Vizcaya. They offered me a glass and I was in love. This rum has a medium body but is very smooth. I got a taste of some vanilla and some hints of sweetness but it is far from being too fruity. I paired the Vizcaya with a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 cigar and the marriage was a success.
Vizcaya is a sipping rum but could be a spicy addition to any premium mojito. Vizcaya will run you about forty dollars in New York City. If you happen to see this impressive looking bottle staring you in the face, definitely don’t hesitate to pick it up. It will be a great nightcap and a smooth compliment to medium body cigars.
I remember this rum, it was pretty good! Do you think its better than the Pogue?
I really like the Pogue Bourbon. I was really impressed by Vizcaya because it’s a rum which I typically don’t drink. Both go great with cigars too.
I found your site via yahoo thanks for the post. I will save it for future reference. Thanks Cigar Reviews is our specialty.
