Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon Holds Six Fragrances For $11,700

Louis Vuitton has created considerably more elaborate ways to carry a fragrance than a dopp kit, but the Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon might be the Maison’s most playful yet. Created with Los Angeles artist Alex Israel, the $11,700 collectible recreates a classic wood-paneled California station wagon while storing six full-size Louis Vuitton Cologne Perfumes inside.
Only 66 examples are being produced, a number chosen in tribute to Route 66. Louis Vuitton says more than 7,000 hours of craftsmanship went into the project, turning what could have simply been extravagant fragrance packaging into a sculptural object that brings together design, art and the Maison’s California-inspired perfume universe.

The Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon Is Limited to 66 Pieces
The inspiration is immediately recognizable. Wood-paneled station wagons have been closely associated with California surf culture, family road trips and the mythology of the American West for decades, and Israel uses that familiar silhouette as the centerpiece of Louis Vuitton’s latest fragrance presentation.
The limited production run strengthens that connection. Louis Vuitton will make just 66 examples of the Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon as a direct nod to Route 66, while Israel’s involvement continues a creative relationship with the Maison that dates back to 2019. His colorful interpretation of Los Angeles and the broader West Coast has helped shape the visual identity surrounding Louis Vuitton’s Cologne Perfumes ever since.
Rather than simply adding his name to the project, Israel treats the vehicle itself as part of the storytelling. The traditional wagon once carried families toward the California coast; here, the passengers are six Louis Vuitton fragrances.
More Than 7,000 Hours Went Into Building It
The playful concept comes with a serious level of craftsmanship. Louis Vuitton says more than 7,000 hours of work were required to create the limited-edition piece, while additional reporting credits approximately 60 artisans with assembling its 219 individual elements.
The Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon combines cherry and mahogany wood with metal and VVN leather. Monogram details are worked into the design, while the vehicle measures approximately 48.6 centimeters long, 21.4 centimeters high and 53.6 centimeters wide.
Those proportions make it considerably more substantial than a typical decorative model car. This is less a miniature automobile that happens to conceal perfume and more a display piece designed around the familiar shape of one.
Six Louis Vuitton Cologne Perfumes Ride Inside
Open the Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon and the reason for its unusual proportions becomes clear. Inside are six 100ml bottles representing Louis Vuitton’s complete California-inspired Cologne Perfumes collection: Afternoon Swim, Pacific Chill, Sun Song, California Dream, City of Stars and On the Beach.
Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud conceived the fragrances around different interpretations of the West Coast, moving from the citrus freshness of Afternoon Swim and Pacific Chill to the sunset-inspired warmth of California Dream and the nighttime Los Angeles atmosphere behind City of Stars.
Israel’s visual language ties those different fragrances together. His work has long drawn from Los Angeles, Hollywood, surf culture and the idealized version of California seen through film, advertising and popular culture, making the Woody Wagon a natural continuation of the collaboration rather than a standalone novelty.
Alex Israel Turns California Nostalgia Into a Luxury Object
The classic wood-paneled wagon works because it already carries so much cultural baggage. Long before SUVs took over American driveways, these vehicles represented family travel while becoming especially connected with surfers loading boards onto the roof and heading toward the Pacific.
Louis Vuitton and Israel preserve that nostalgia while filtering it through the Maison’s luxury codes. The familiar proportions remain, but mahogany, leather, Monogram detailing and thousands of hours of handwork transform the vehicle from an emblem of casual California mobility into a collectible design object.
That distinction is important because the Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon makes considerably more sense as functional sculpture than as fragrance storage. Nobody spending five figures on it simply needs a more elaborate place to keep six bottles of cologne.

The Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon Costs $11,700
The Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon price is $11,700, putting it far beyond even an extravagant fragrance gift set. Recent reporting says the 66-piece edition is being offered by preorder, with deliveries expected in late September.
For comparison, Louis Vuitton currently prices individual 100ml bottles from the Cologne Perfumes collection at $360 in the United States. That makes it obvious where most of the Woody Wagon’s value proposition lies: the fragrances are part of the package, but the handcrafted object surrounding them is the real purchase.
At $11,700, the Louis Vuitton Woody Wagon is ridiculous if judged purely as perfume storage and completely logical within the world of Louis Vuitton collectible design. Its purpose is not merely to organize six bottles. It takes the Maison’s long-running California fragrance story and gives collectors a physical interpretation of it — surfboard, wood paneling, Monogram details and all.
