The $14,750 OpusX Big Purple Dream Returns With 110 Rare Cigars

The OpusX Big Purple Dream is returning in December 2026 with 110 rare cigars, a $14,750 suggested retail price and an allocation of just 30 humidors. That shipment completes a 60-piece edition split between two releases: the first 30 shipped in December 2025, with the remaining half scheduled for this December.
Part of the Fuente Fuente OpusX Serie “Heaven and Earth” collection, the set pairs a French-made Prometheus humidor with an assortment that has changed since the initial shipment. The upcoming edition brings Carlito’s X Rare Purple cigars into the spotlight, giving collectors a fresh selection to examine alongside the purple presentation.

What Makes the OpusX Big Purple Dream Different?
Prometheus makes the OpusX Big Purple Dream humidor by hand in France, using purple sycamore for the exterior veneer and okume for the interior. The combination gives the piece its defining color while preserving its identity as a wooden storage cabinet. Each humidor carries an individual serial number and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Its usefulness extends beyond the cigars supplied at delivery. The humidor has a stated capacity of 300 cigars and includes two storage trays, leaving room for an existing collection or future additions. Four Prometheus Optima humidifiers and a Hygro 3 digital hygrometer handle humidification and monitoring.
The set also includes Arturo Fuente: Since 1912, a large-format book exploring the family’s cigar-making history. Together, the book, numbered humidor and cigar assortment give the release several layers of interest for Fuente enthusiasts.

Inside the 110-Cigar Collection
Carlito’s X Rare Purple accounts for 30 cigars, divided evenly among the Diadema 54, Diadema 56 and Diadema 60 formats. Created by Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr., the cigars are handmade at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in the Dominican Republic.
Another 10 cigars come from Purple Rain. The BBMF selection contributes 20 more, split equally between Natural and Maduro expressions. That gives the collection two versions of one of the recognizable names within the wider OpusX assortment.
The largest group is Rare Black, with 50 cigars spread across five formats. Ten each of Torpedo, Double Corona, Diadema 54, Diadema 56 and Diadema 60 complete the collection. Altogether, the upcoming assortment comprises 11 named formats, with 10 examples of each.
For collectors interested in the vintage designation, there is a useful detail on the cigars themselves. Cigar Aficionado reports that secondary bands identify the year each cigar was rolled before being set aside to age. That information allows the collection’s aging history to be considered at the individual-cigar level.

Why the December Release Matters
The two-stage rollout helps explain why earlier coverage may show different numbers. Fuente Aged Selection lists the December 2025 shipment with 106 cigars and a suggested price of $12,975. Its current December 2026 listing specifies 110 cigars at $14,750, excluding tobacco and sales taxes.
The change involves the assortment as well as the count. The newer selection features the three Carlito’s X Rare Purple Diadema formats and a broader Rare Black lineup. Anyone researching the release should check which shipment a photograph or product description represents, particularly when comparing the cigars displayed inside the humidor.

Smaller Selections Are Also Coming
Cigar Aficionado’s October 15 report also details smaller collections presented in Prometheus Macassar Ebony travel humidors. The 10-cigar Diadema 54 selection is priced at $690, the Diadema 56 at $675, and the Diadema 60 and Purple Rain Torpedo selections at $650 each.
A separate six-cigar selection carries a $425 suggested price, providing another way to explore the related releases without the full-size cabinet.
Their schedules vary. According to the report, the Diadema 54 and 56 sets had already shipped. The Diadema 60 was expected to follow in late October or the first half of November, while the Purple Rain Torpedo collection and six-cigar selection were scheduled for December. Those dates describe the reported shipping plans; arrival at individual retailers will depend on distribution.

OpusX Big Purple Dream Price and Release Date
