With up to 876 bhp available when launch control is active, the Bentley Torcal S enters the brand’s first fully electric range as what Bentley calls its most powerful production car. The claimed 2.8-second sprint to 60 mph will command attention, but the more interesting question is what happens once that sprint ends.

Bentley Torcal S Delivers Up to 876 BHP

The Bentley Torcal S uses two performance-tuned electric motors to produce up to 876 bhp and 996 lb-ft of torque with launch control engaged. Bentley claims a zero-to-60-mph time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 162 mph. Those are exceptional numbers for a luxury SUV, even alongside the V8-powered Bentayga Speed we’ve covered before.

Bentley also describes hardware meant to make that power usable beyond a straight line. Its Active Ride suspension is designed to limit body roll during cornering, while all-wheel steering turns the rear wheels opposite the fronts at low speeds to tighten the turning circle. At higher speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction for smoother lane changes. Those are Bentley’s stated engineering aims; how the full package feels on the road awaits a drive.

An Illuminated Grille Sets the Tone

Bentley’s floating front grille contains 76 hand-applied LED diamonds, a lighting treatment shared across the Bentley Torcal range. On the S, unlocking the SUV triggers a welcome animation specific to this model. The grille is a familiar Bentley signature recast as a light feature, giving the vehicle a recognizable face even without the usual need to feed air to a large engine.

In Bentley’s Electrum Satin imagery, the broad front end and sculpted flanks give the Bentley Torcal S a planted stance. Black badges, mirror caps and side detailing sharpen the contrast, while sport sills, front-bumper moldings and a rear diffuser add visual weight. Darker gray taillamp lenses complete the look from behind. Bentley’s photographed First Edition wheels and fender badges belong to that launch specification, not every S.

Craftsmanship Meets a Different Kind of Soundtrack

Inside, the Bentley Torcal S combines leather across the lower cabin with suede-like Dinamica on surfaces that include the seats, doors and headliner. Hand-finished carbon-fiber veneers give the cabin a sportier edge, but the diamond-knurled controls are just as revealing: Bentley still wants key touchpoints to feel deliberate in the hand. The First Edition adds its own seat quilting and embroidery.

The illuminated glass Curation Controller on the center console selects four modes: Comfort, Sport, Bentley and Refresh. Bentley says its Curation Engine can coordinate seat settings, cabin lighting, sound, sunroof and climate functions with the chosen driving character. Selecting Sport, for example, also changes the graphics on the driver display and central screen. It is a more complete interpretation of a drive mode than simply adjusting the accelerator.

Then there is Bentley Dynamic Symphony. Built from the sounds of real musical instruments, it gives the electric Torcal a responsive soundtrack tied to the driving experience. Rather than treating silence as the only expression of electric luxury, Bentley has chosen to make sound another part of the cabin’s atmosphere. The system’s appeal will ultimately depend on how it feels from behind the wheel, but the concept is consistent with the rest of the car: technology used to create an occasion.

Charging, Pricing and Availability

Bentley lists a 16-minute DC charge from 10 to 80 percent under suitable high-power charging conditions. As with the Porsche Cayenne Electric, charging speed is part of the luxury proposition: less time waiting matters when a vehicle is meant to make travel feel effortless. The U.S. range figure has yet to receive an EPA rating, so there is no certified number to quote here.

The Bentley Torcal is expected to reach the U.S. in early 2027 as a 2028 model. Bentley has not announced U.S. pricing. For now, the Torcal S pairs a striking performance claim with the finishes, light and tactile detail that make the record feel like more than a spec-sheet exercise.
