BRABUS doesn’t do subtle, and the new BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC Cross Cabin makes that clear almost immediately. The 38-foot performance boat packs 1,000 horsepower, a top speed of up to 60 knots and the kind of Black Ops-inspired styling normally reserved for one of the tuner’s heavily modified supercars.
Making its world premiere alongside the new Shadow 38 range at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Shadow 1000 XC sits at the top of BRABUS Marine’s latest lineup. Developed with Axopar, it combines serious offshore performance with enough comfort, technology and luxury detailing to make it much more than an oversized weekend speed toy.
The BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC Leads The New Shadow 38 Range
The BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC Cross Cabin serves as the performance flagship of the new Shadow 38 family. At 38 feet, or approximately 11.6 meters long, the boat carries the aggressive proportions expected from BRABUS while introducing a redesigned platform intended to balance speed, handling and everyday usability.
Its sharp-entry hull uses a twin-stepped, 20-degree V configuration designed for performance at speed, giving the BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC legitimate credentials beyond its sinister paintwork and oversized engines. And those engines are where things get serious.
1,000 HP And 60 Knots Are The Main Event
Mounted at the stern are two Mercury Racing 500R V8 outboards, combining to produce the headline-making 1,000 horsepower figure. According to BRABUS, that is enough to push the BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC to speeds of up to 60 knots, or roughly 69 mph.
That puts the boat firmly into high-performance territory while preserving the functionality expected from a luxury cross-cabin model. It is a familiar BRABUS formula: start with something already capable, add considerably more attitude and make sure the finished product has numbers worthy of the badge.
It Looks Like A BRABUS On Water
The styling leaves little doubt about where the BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC comes from. BRABUS gives the boat its signature BLACK OPS treatment, paired with red graphics, extensive dark detailing and carbon-inspired finishes that visually connect it to the company’s automotive builds.
Inside, the same philosophy continues across the helm and cabin, including BRABUS-specific dashboard treatments and a steering wheel that looks more at home inside a performance car than on a conventional powerboat. Rather than simply placing BRABUS logos on an existing design, the Shadow 1000 XC feels like the brand’s familiar visual language translated for the water.
The Gullwing Doors And Twin 16-Inch Displays Seal The Deal
The performance figures might grab the headline, but some of the BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC’s best details appear once you step aboard. Its cabin can be accessed through a pair of dramatic BRABUS Gullwing doors, immediately giving the boat another visual link to the exotic-car world.
At the helm, drivers get a pair of 16-inch Simrad NSS EVO4 displays handling navigation and onboard information. Available equipment can also include radar and FLIR 360-degree night vision, adding another layer of capability for owners planning to spend serious time offshore. Below deck, the front cabin offers sleeping space for two along with the option of an onboard bathroom.
It’s Built For Weekends, Not Just Throttle Pulls
Despite all the performance theater, BRABUS designed the Shadow 1000 XC to remain usable. Different configurations allow the boat to handle everything from cruising and watersports to entertaining and overnight trips.
Depending on certification, passenger capacity reaches 10 or 12 people, while the standard sleeping arrangement accommodates two. An optional aft-cabin package increases total berth capacity to four. That versatility matters because it prevents the Shadow 1000 XC from becoming a one-dimensional exercise in horsepower. BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC owners can still spend the afternoon hammering the throttles, but they do not necessarily have to head home when the sun goes down.
BRABUS Marine Is Just Getting Started
The BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC arrives as the halo model for a new generation of BRABUS Marine boats, and the company already has more versions of the platform planned. Cross Top and Sun Top variants of the Shadow 38 are expected to follow in 2027, expanding the lineup beyond the Cross Cabin configuration.
For now, though, the BRABUS Shadow 1000 XC makes the mission pretty clear. Take 1,000 horsepower, add gullwing doors, twin 16-inch displays and BLACK OPS attitude, then send the whole thing across the water at 60 knots. Very BRABUS.
