There are infinity pools with a view, and then there is the one at Keras Cliff House. Perched on the southern coast of Crete near the seaside village of Agia Galini, the secluded retreat puts a roughly 1,076-square-foot infinity pool between its sculptural architecture and the seemingly endless blue of the Libyan Sea. Keras Cliff House Crete Was Built Around the Landscape
Keras Cliff House was envisioned in 2021 by local architect Michalis Tzagkarakis and Associates, working alongside property owner Patrick Alexander Baeuerle. The finished residence went on to win a BIG SEE Architecture Award 2026 in the Tourism Buildings category.
Its design reaches much further back than 2021, however. One of the project’s primary inspirations is the Minoan “Horns of Consecration,” an ancient symbol that informed the house’s curved geometry. Two primary volumes follow the natural contours of the property as it slopes toward the water, with curved exposed-concrete slabs sheltering both interior and outdoor living areas. One volume contains the home’s social spaces, while the other houses its primary sleeping quarters.
That relationship with the landscape isn’t decorative. Positioning the structure along the site’s topography allowed the architects to preserve views across the southern Cretan Sea and toward the uninhabited Paximadia Islands from throughout the residence.
The property’s design credentials have also attracted attention outside hospitality. Poliform selected Keras Cliff House as a location for its 2026 Outdoor Collection, using the home’s concrete, stone, terraces and uninterrupted horizon as a backdrop for the Italian furniture brand’s latest designs.
The 1,076-Square-Foot Infinity Pool Is the Main Event
The architecture might make Keras Cliff House noteworthy. The swimming pool makes it difficult to scroll past. Measuring 100 square meters, or roughly 1,076 square feet, the heated infinity pool stretches toward the edge of the estate with the Libyan Sea filling the horizon beyond it. There’s also a shallow section for children and a separate hot tub positioned near the water.
Rather than treating the pool as an isolated amenity, the house effectively builds its outdoor living areas around it. Guests can move from shaded lounge spaces to sunbeds, an outdoor shower and terraces overlooking the sea before eventually settling into an outdoor dining area equipped with a full kitchen and barbecue setup.
After dark, a sunken fire-pit area gives the property another gathering spot without sacrificing that ever-present view.
There’s Also A Private Spa And Padel Court
Keras gets increasingly ridiculous once you move beyond the pool. An indoor wellness area near the water includes a hammam and sauna with sea views, while the estate’s outdoor fitness setup features a calisthenics area and panoramic spaces intended for yoga.
Then there is the private padel court. Illuminated for evening play and positioned within the grounds, the court comes with rackets and balls and can also be configured for pickleball. The main residence spans approximately 330 square meters, or 3,500 square feet, with another 600-plus square meters of paved outdoor living space. Airbnb currently markets Keras Cliff House for up to 12 guests across six bedrooms and six bathrooms, while the property’s own materials describe four dedicated guest rooms alongside flexible spaces that can be converted to accommodate additional guests.
Inside, the same landscape-first philosophy continues. Large expanses of glass turn the sea into part of the interior, while exposed concrete, stone and restrained finishes keep the building from competing with the scenery outside. Minoan references also appear in smaller details, including colors inspired by ancient frescoes and the sculptural treatment of the home’s entrance.
The kitchen comes courtesy of Scavolini, complete with a cooking island, premium appliances, wine storage and direct access to a sea-facing terrace. From there, the distinction between indoors and outdoors gets increasingly difficult to find—which seems to be exactly the point.
Guests Can Go Full-Service
Booking the house doesn’t necessarily mean you’re on your own once you arrive. Keras offers everything from a relatively straightforward key-only stay to more comprehensive hospitality packages. Depending on the arrangement, guests can add private chefs, housekeeping, massage therapy, yoga instruction, padel coaching, transfers and other personalized services. The full-service option can even include meals prepared throughout the day along with butler service.
One of the more unexpected offerings happens after the sun goes down. Guests can arrange a private stargazing session led by an astronomer associated with Crete’s Skinakas Observatory, taking advantage of the property’s secluded setting and low levels of surrounding light.
