The KEF LS LUXE Turns Wireless Hi-Fi Into A $4,000 Work Of Art
High-end speakers are traditionally designed to sound impressive without drawing too much attention to themselves. The new KEF LS LUXE Speakers takes the opposite approach.
Created in collaboration with industrial designer Ross Lovegrove, the wireless hi-fi system features a sculptural cabinet intended to function as both serious audio equipment and a prominent interior design object. Beneath its flowing exterior, KEF has installed a larger Uni-Q driver, built-in amplification and several technologies previously reserved for more elaborate speaker systems. Priced at $3,999.99 per pair, the KEF LS LUXE is positioned as a premium step above the brand’s popular LS50 Wireless II rather than a replacement for it.
Ross Lovegrove Reimagines The Wireless Speaker
Lovegrove has a longstanding relationship with KEF and previously shaped products including the imposing MUON loudspeaker. For the KEF LS LUXE, he replaced the familiar rectangular speaker cabinet with an organic silhouette composed of rounded surfaces and tightly integrated curves.
The shape is not purely decorative. KEF says the low-diffraction cabinet was created to reduce unwanted vibrations while providing the internal volume required for its acoustic components. It is constructed from a durable bulk molding compound and offered in three finishes: Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black and Mineral White.
The resulting speakers look closer to contemporary sculptures than traditional bookshelf equipment. Optional S-LUXE floor stands extend that visual language with integrated cable management and mounting hardware designed specifically for the speakers.
Serious Audio Technology Lives Inside The Art Object
At the center of the LS LUXE is KEF’s 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q driver array, which positions the tweeter inside the midrange and bass driver. The configuration is designed to distribute sound more evenly throughout a room rather than restricting the optimal listening experience to one narrow position.
The driver is supported by KEF’s Metamaterial Absorption Technology, commonly known as MAT. The circular structure sits behind the tweeter and is engineered to absorb 99 percent of the unwanted sound generated from the rear of the driver.
KEF has also introduced its Velocity Control Technology, or VECO, in a wireless speaker for the first time. The motion-sensing feedback system continuously monitors the driver and makes corrections intended to reduce distortion and power compression, particularly through the midrange and lower frequencies.
A current-drive amplification system supplies a listed 280 watts to the low-frequency section and 100 watts to the high-frequency section. KEF’s Music Integrity Engine handles digital signal processing, timing and speaker optimization. Together, those components give the KEF LS LUXE a stated frequency response of 42Hz to 28kHz, depending on its equalization settings.
Built For Music, Television And More
The KEF LS LUXE eliminates the need for a separate amplifier, streamer and traditional stack of audio components. Music can be streamed through Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer. Bluetooth 5.3 is also included.
Network playback supports files at resolutions up to 24-bit/384kHz. Roon Ready integration is planned for 2027 through a future over-the-air update.
Physical connections include HDMI eARC for television audio, optical, digital coaxial and a 3.5-millimeter analog input. A turntable can also be incorporated through the analog connection when the system includes the necessary phono preamplification.
KEF provides two dedicated subwoofer outputs, allowing owners to expand the system with additional low-frequency reinforcement. Controls are managed through the KEF Connect app or the included C3 remote, which features an aluminum top plate, illuminated buttons and a customizable shortcut.

The KEF LS LUXE is listed in the United States at $3,999.99 per pair in Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black and Mineral White. The matching S-LUXE floor stands are sold separately for $799.99 per pair. They position the Uni-Q drivers at the recommended listening height while concealing the system’s cables inside the stands.
At nearly $4,000 before adding the stands, the LS LUXE is not designed to compete with casual smart speakers. It is an all-in-one high-end audio system for listeners who want the convenience of wireless streaming without hiding their equipment in the background.
With the LS LUXE, KEF is making the argument that serious wireless hi-fi should not simply fit into a thoughtfully designed room. It can help define one.
